INDICATIONS	NUVOGUT Chromic sutures are used in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in ophthalmic surgery but not in cardiovascular or neurological surgery.

NUVOGUT Chromic sutures are twisted multifilament sutures made from purified collagen sourced from the serosal layer of bovines, tanned with chrome salts. Available in dark brown, they cause moderate tissue reaction and are absorbed by phagocytosis. The absorption process is slowed by chromizing, taking approximately 90 days, though it may be faster in tissues with higher proteolytic enzyme levels. These sutures are suitable for general soft tissue approximation and ligation and are sterilized with ethylene oxide.
Chromic Catgut Sutures are natural, absorbable, and made from twisted multifilament collagen from healthy sheep and goats. Treated with chromic salts, they resist premature absorption, offering extended tissue support. They elicit minimal tissue reaction during absorption.
Both sutures are sterilized and provide excellent knotting properties and smooth tissue handling. They offer reliable performance in soft tissue surgeries and are available in USP sizes ranging from 5-0 to 2.
