The suture is coated with poly-glycolide-co-L-lactide and calcium stearate to minimize tissue drag and improve handling.

The suture is absorbed through hydrolysis and is completely absorbed within 40 to 45 days, producing minimal tissue reaction. It retains approximately 50% tensile strength after 5–7 days and around 10% after 10 days, making it suitable where rapid absorption is required.
